A Lifelong Dedication To Education

My Experience:

Music Major at JMU

My love for teaching began at James Madison University, where I majored in music. Through countless hours of practice and performance, I learned the importance of creativity, discipline, and storytelling—all vital skills for crafting compelling college applications.

Teaching in NYC

After graduating, I embraced the vibrant energy of New York City’s schools, teaching music to diverse classes of students. I discovered how powerful individualized attention and encouragement can be, especially for students who learn and think differently.

Master’s in Education & Teaching English

My desire to connect with students on a deeper level led me to earn a Master of Education degree, and for 15 years, I taught English—fostering a love of literature, critical thinking, and self-expression in young minds.

School & District Administration

Yearning to create broader impact, I earned a Master of School Administration from UNC Chapel Hill. I served as a school and district administrator, launching programs that supported teachers, engaged families, and improved student outcomes.

Credentials
